The Magic of Writing Workshop

Recommended Grades 4-6

Mrs. Troulis’ love of writing and enjoyment of working with children to help strengthen their writing inspired her to develop a fun and unique creative writing workshop.

In the workshop students will:

- Discuss various creative writing techniques.

- Learn to use their imaginations
and senses to make their writing more vivid.

- Play word games to help strengthen
their creative writing skills.

Examine the ingredients

some of Penelope and Priscilla's

spells and create their own.

To enhance their creative writing experience, students will receive a special feather pencil to write with and, a special paper on which to write their spells.

The "Meet The Author" Program

Recommended grades 3- 6

DURING MEET THE AUTHOR PROGRAM CHILDREN WILL:

- Hear Mrs. Troulis inspirational story of how she became a children’s book author.

- Watch a digital slideshow and listen to some of her first literary works.

- Learn how she not only wrote her books, but also illustrated and published them.

- Meet Penelope and Priscilla, Mrs. Troulis' handmade dolls, as well as some other enchanted characters from the series.

- Examine some of the potions and unique cooking utensils found in Penelope and Priscilla’s secret laboratory.
